Job description

MERITUS are working with one of the worlds biggest defence organizations for the recruitment of an Electrical CAD Designer to join their South London office on a permanent basis.


Electrical CAD Designer - Permanent - SC Cleared - UK Citizenship - South London offices - Salary up to £89,000pa - Hybrid working - Compressed Fortnight available


A key member of the Hardware Engineering team, this role will be to create and review electrical designs and drawings to deliver on a Defence maritime platform management project.


Due to continued growth to support a high profile project, this role is increasing our existing Electrical CAD Design team capability and experience.

Salary: £50,000 - £59,000


Responsibilities:
  1. Produce electrical schematics using AutoCAD electrical
  2. Support the creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOM)
  3. Provide electrical engineering support to the Electrical Design Engineering team
  4. Develop component libraries to support schematics
  5. Review electrical schematics in accordance with relevant standards and internal Computer Aided Design (CAD) processes.
  6. Maintain documents and drawings through development and production changes
  7. Collaboratively support other engineering functions from a mechanical drawing perspective
  8. Raise and action Change Notes (CN)
  9. Manage and adhere to configuration management processes for baseline control throughout the full project lifecycle

We are looking for:
  1. Strong experience in an Electrical CAD position
  2. Understanding and working knowledge of electrical related Defence Standards, including Lloyds Register and other Military Standards (e.g. Def Stan 59-411)
  3. Proficient user of AutoCAD Electrical or similar
  4. Ability to work independently on own initiative, as well as within a collaborative team environment
  5. Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment
