Casualty Solicitor

Leading insurance firm has a rare opportunity for a casualty solicitor to join this successful team.

We are looking for a Solicitor to join our claims team in Leicester or Birmingham. We offer flexible work patterns.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage your own caseload and assist senior fee earners on their cases.
2. Handle a mix of pre-litigated and litigated claims including Highways Law, Occupiers Liability, Employers Liability, and Housing disrepair.
3. Draft and perform legal research, investigations, etc.
4. Draft pleadings, witness statements, and prepare cases for trial.
5. Attend conferences and court.
6. Communicate with clients, Counsel, and various other parties.
7. Achieve set financial and chargeable targets.
8. Ensure relevant deadlines, quality measures, and KIPS are adhered to.
9. Comply with relevant policies and procedures.

About You:

1. You will be a qualified Solicitor with a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work.
2. Current experience at handling/managing defendant EL/PL casualty claims is essential.
3. Previous experience at managing defendant EL/PL specific fraud claims is desirable.
4. 2+ years PQE.
5. Genuine interest in claims validation and fraud.
6. Working knowledge of PL, EL, Highways, and Housing Law.
7. Experience of handling your own casualty caseload.
8. Good drafting skills.
9. Good influencing skills.
10. Excellent communication skills.
11. Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
