Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Health and Safety, or a related field or equivalent education with NEBOSH diploma
- To be conversant with Safety, Health, Fire and Environmental Regulations
- Proven track record in successfully developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures
- Passionate about sustaining standards as a base from which to improve and producing dynamic and creative but appropriate improvement

Responsibilities
- To maintain, advise on and improve the EHS Management systems on site and advise all levels of management on legal and best practice requirements concerning EHS. This is to include SW internal policies and ISO14001, 18001 and OSHAS 18001.
- Identify gaps in legislative compliance, SW guideline compliance and review performance information. In conjunction with the site management, develop plans to close these gaps.
- Identify relevant legislation, correctly interpret it, and develop plans to facilitate compliance.
- To ensure EHS Management systems undergo management review on a frequent basis, incorporating improvements including those identified through legislative and performance review.
- Auditing of Company SHE performance and identifying where standards are not being maintained. Instigating corrective actions against relevant departments on behalf of the SHE Team.
- Use hierarchy of control measures to minimize exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise, manual handling risks, and other hazards.
- Ensure efficient HSE communication via HSE Committee Meetings, attendance and sharing information from HSE EMEA meetings, SW HSE conferences, and HSE Alerts from other sites.
- External liaison with regulators, consultants, trade and professional bodies to ensure compliance and capture best practice. Acts as point of contact for any internal or external audits. Liaise with insurance investigators on 3rd Party liability claims.
- Identify, develop and facilitate appropriate safety, health and environmental training and refresher training.
- To facilitate process safety processes such as HAZID and HAZOP.
