An established industry player is seeking dedicated Tutors to work with private students in various subjects, including Music and Languages. This role requires a blend of teaching expertise and business acumen, as Tutors often operate in a self-employed capacity. Tutors work with private students, and usually specialise in a particular area. While similar to teachers, Tutors do not need to be qualified as a teacher, and usually teach based on professional experience or academic qualifications. Music and language tutors are two such examples. Tutors will generally have the following responsibilities:
Tutors need a similar skillset to teachers, with added business skills, as they will tend to work in a self-employed capacity or through an agency as a contractor. This means that excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Being highly organised and able to plan is also important, as Tutors are often required to manage their own schedules and those of their pupils. While official qualifications aren't fundamental, they can certainly be useful in adding credibility. A degree or higher in their area of specialism is therefore ideal.
Trefoil Tutors are looking to employ a full-time Teacher of Mathematics to teach up to fourteen weekly 90-minute sessions. The ideal candidate has: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), teaching/tutoring experience, and a strong academic background in Maths.
