We have a fantastic Locum Social Work Opportunity based within a Duty and Assessment Team in the Wigan area. You will be working alongside a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing an effective, child-centred service to children in need of support and protection.

Hybrid Working – You will be required to work in the office on Duty Week.

Responsibilities:

1. Responding to new referrals from professionals and members of the public.
2. Signposting people to other agencies or completing an assessment of need, investigating allegations so that children/young people are protected from harm.
3. Managing a varied and complex caseload.
4. Undertaking Court Work.
5. Writing concise, fit-for-purpose reports/court statements.
6. Working well within a team and with external agencies.

To be considered for the Social Worker ideally you will have:

1. Experience of working in a ‘Children’s Duty and Assessment’ team (desirable).
2. SWE registration.
3. BSc Social Work or equivalent.
