Job description

Role: Senior HR Advisor

Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary up to £37,000 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Senior HR Advisor to join our HR and Payroll department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Senior HR Advisor, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • HR Advice and Support - Deliver high-quality HR advice, support employee relations, and act as an expert in HR matters, including complex cases and strategic initiatives.
  • Employee Relations Management - Manage employee relations, handle casework, provide timely advice to line managers, and ensure compliance with policies and legislation.
  • HR Administration and Compliance - Ensure accurate administration of the employee life cycle, maintain HR records, comply with GDPR, and support HR projects and initiatives.
  • Professional Development and Team Collaboration - Share best practices, contribute to team development, participate in training, and support the achievement of team objectives.
  • College-Wide Responsibilities - Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion, follow health and safety requirements, and participate in college events and meetings.

About you:

  • Qualifications and Experience - CIPD Level 3 qualification or working towards Level 5, extensive knowledge and experience in Employee Relations, and GCSEs in English and Maths.
  • Skills and Abilities - Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft, effective communication, and organizational skills.
  • Values and Attributes - Commitment to college values (Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, Health & Safety), maintaining confidentiality, and promoting continuous improvement in HR practices.
  • Professional Development - Self-motivated, enthusiastic, results-focused, and proactive in supporting team colleagues and participating in training and development.
  • Flexibility and Compliance - Ability to travel to other college sites, adapt working hours, support college events, and maintain professional boundaries with children and young people.
