Job Purpose

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely recording of all purchase, sales ledgers and banking activities for the UK Companies and other Kyowa Kirin subsidiaries as needed, and
  • Overseeing the preparation of the accounts ledgers for inclusion in the group consolidated results.
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Support :
    • Responsible for the allocation of the workloads of the Finance Assistants (UK Finance team)
    • Support and motivate Finance Assistants to ensure timetables are met
    • Support with the team’s training and development needs and take a lead with the roll out of any new processes and procedures to the Finance assistants
    • Ensure that finance processes are being followed by the team (such as time matching of subledgers, bank verification checks etc)
    • Appraise performances
  • Daily and monthly tasks may cover:
    • Accurate recording and reconciliation of the Purchase Ledgers ensuring consistent coding, matching to PO and approvals
    • Ensure accurate and timely Sales Ledger invoicing/ recharges and credit control management
    • Maintain and review subledgers to ensure that they are kept up to date
    • Ensure balances between the UK companies are fully reconciled each month and maintain monthly reconciliation schedule for all companies
    • Maintenance of bank accounts, including bank reconciliations
    • Supporting with expense processing via Concur
  • Other responsibilities:
    • Identify and recommend improvements in finance processes to Group Reporting Accountant.
    • Support both internal and external auditors in requests for information/documentation
    • Other ad hoc tasks and possible project work as required in order to help the business.
Qualifications

Position Requirements

  • Strong experience using Finance software package, Microsoft Dynamics knowledge desirable
  • Good grasp of accounting principles
  • Basic VAT understanding
  • Excel & Word skills
