TRACKSIDE IT SPECIALIST

Role Overview:

Reports to the IT Manager. This position is responsible for the deployment, support, and development of trackside IT systems for the Mahindra Formula E Team. As a part of a small team, they will:

Main Responsibilities:

1. Deploy, support, and pack away IT systems at all race events and test events where needed.
2. Plan and perform upgrades and changes to infrastructure both in and out of the racing season.
3. Provide 1st – 3rd line technical support to users at the track during an event and at the factory.
4. Maintain and troubleshoot the trackside LAN and WAN, experience with Cisco networking and be confident with TCP/IP networking and layer 3 routing.
5. Support virtualised servers and Firewall appliances.
6. Administer a Windows based estate to include AD, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
7. Support motorsport specific hardware and software such as MAT, CAD, and Simulation software.
8. Ensure up-to-date documentation for systems and services.
9. Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager or designate.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

Education and Work Experience:

BS in MIS or Computer Science required, or similar/equivalent, or qualified by experience. Typically requires at least 2-3 years’ experience in the IT field. Exposure to a racing or event environment preferred but not a necessity. Working in an international environment desirable.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Have relevant experience in a similar technical position, ideally in a motorsport or event-based environment. Be extremely self-driven and motivated to be the best at what you do every day. A quick thinker, be a flexible and adaptive character with the ability to react to and solve problems with speed and efficiency, sometimes under highly pressurised situations.

Equipment and Applications:

Solid understanding of networking, switching, routing, and troubleshooting. CCNA or equivalent certifications are an advantage. Good working experience of virtual environments. Strong knowledge of Microsoft server, desktop environments, and Active Directory domains. A working knowledge of McLaren Applied Technology software such as Atlas, System Monitor, Atlas Data Server, and SQL Race.

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritise within a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role requires extensive worldwide travel and a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends. This position may require lifting 25Kg while setting up the garage at track events.
