  • Partner with Site Manager and act as the first point of contact for all people-related matters for the Depots.
  • In conjunction with Site Manager, design and deliver effective people plans ensuring all areas of focus are included.
  • Work closely with Site Manager to ensure survey action plans are created and delivered.
  • Work with Site Manager to identify successors at every level of the management structure and for key roles on site.
  • Ensure development of individuals identified and delivered in conjunction with the L&D team.
  • Support the L&D team in the delivery of PDPs for all Managers.
  • Ensure underperformance is addressed using appropriate policies.
  • Work with Managers to ensure employee issues are resolved quickly and where possible informally.
  • Coach Line Managers to ensure they are competent in tackling ER issues in an appropriate manner.
  • Regularly review trends in ER issues; grievances, disciplinaries, reasons for leaving, etc., to identify potential issues, making recommendations to resolve to Site Manager involving senior members of the HR team as appropriate.
  • Escalate high-profile ER cases to Head of HR Ops/Senior HR Business Partner in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Occupational Health to effectively manage long-term sickness cases.
  • Ensure all systems/employee files are up to date with accurate employee detail, including grievance, disciplinary, and absence records.
  • Challenge costs within the business to improve productivity.
  • Influence the development of HR policies and processes to ensure they meet the needs of the business.
  • Continuously review the local marketplace to foresee challenges ahead and address.
  • Support Head of HR Compliance with Tribunal cases with ACAS intervention as appropriate.
