Head of Geography - East London – September 2025

At Engage Education, we’re recruiting for an exciting opportunity to work in a successful secondary school in Redbridge. We are currently recruiting for a permanent Head of Geography who can confidently lead a department across KS3, KS4, and KS5 to start in September 2025.

About the role:

This is a full-time role leading the Geography department across Key Stage 3/4/5 students. Geography is incredibly popular at GCSE and A-Level. The department encourages creativity, ambition, and collaborative work.

The school has well-behaved students who are eager to learn and achieve excellent results at both GCSE and A-Level. This role would suit either an experienced teacher or a 2nd in charge looking to take on their first HOD role, or a current Head of Department seeking a new challenge.

About you:

1. Have high expectations of your students
2. Have experience teaching Geography up to A-Level and be confident in leading curriculum development
3. Hold Qualified Teacher Status, ideally with a Geography Specialism
4. A real desire to make a positive difference to the students you work with
5. Have a passion for working collaboratively and excitement to lead a large department
