We are excited to be retained by a forward-thinking global Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences business looking for a Director of Technical Operations. With over £500M revenue, the business is dedicated to enhancing patient care and becoming a global leader in the field. The company’s diverse product portfolio and pipeline are key to their growth and success.
They are looking for an experienced Director of Technical Operations to lead product acquisitions due diligence and supply integration. This role is pivotal in managing M&A due diligence, pipeline evaluations, and business integration, ensuring seamless collaboration across functions and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Working alongside the COO to track and report on M&A and pipeline progress, highlighting key successes and operational challenges.
- Identifying and escalating conflicting priorities, strategies, or tactics, ensuring alignment across cross-functional activities.
- Defining and leading meeting structures to track initiatives, ensuring the right stakeholders are engaged for effective decision-making.
- Overseeing the preparation of clear and impactful presentations and reports, ensuring stakeholders are informed of key risks and issues.
- Building and leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and long-term partnerships to drive business transformation.
- Acting as the primary liaison with seller project teams during M&A projects, coordinating diligence inputs across Global Operations.
- Developing technical supply maps and product transfer strategies for M&A and pipeline projects, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Providing expert support to BD&L on manufacturing and supply strategies during due diligence and negotiations of complex pipeline assets.
- Overseeing integration workstreams, serving as the Single Point of Contact for operational integration projects.
- Contributing as a key member of the Senior Management Team, actively participating in strategic discussions and decision-making.
The ideal candidate
- Recognised project management qualification (PMP, CAPM, or Prince 2 Practitioner).
- Strong background in the international pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in regulatory frameworks and compliance.
- Proven leadership in change management, business transformation, and commercial development.
- Deep understanding of technical and manufacturing operations, including quality management principles.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of managing complex initiatives.
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with a strategic mindset.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Collaborative team player, able to influence and drive cross-functional success.
- Experience in M&A integration Pharma Manufacturing licensing projects.
