Historic England have three fantastic opportunities for you to join us as our Chartered Architect / Chartered Building Surveyor / Chartered Architectural Technologist.
This is a Full Time, 12 months Fixed-Term Contract. We have two posts available.
The location of this role is National where we offer hybrid working, you will be based in one of our following offices and from home - Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth (Fort Cumberland), Cambridge and London.
Salary is dependant on location.
National £38,067 per annum

What you will be doing
Historic England has an important role in the delivery of time-limited programmes of grant funding for the conservation of the historic environment, on behalf of a range of government departments. The organisation has a range of expert building professionals, but it is sometimes necessary to supplement this capacity to successfully deliver these programmes.
In this role, as part of Historic England's Regions Group, you will use both your expert technical knowledge and your excellent interpersonal skills to advise on and develop sustainable proposals for the repair and re-use of traditional buildings, that are considered to be at risk. You will join a central team working nationally alongside colleagues in six regional offices to deliver grant programmes that will repair and conserve all types of built heritage.
You will be able to have a direct impact on the conservation of our national heritage by working with owners and communities to find sustainable solutions for traditional buildings. It is also an invaluable opportunity to work alongside Historic England expert staff, with whom you will be able to exchange skills and knowledge.
