Job description

Job Title: SEN Science and Maths Teacher (SEMH)
Location: Bedford (MK44)
Rate: 120 - 200 per day (dependent on experience/MPS)
Contract Type: Potential long-term to permanent opportunity

We are currently seeking proactive and experienced SEN Science and Maths Teachers to join a supportive SEMH school in Bedford. The school caters to learners aged 7 to 19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those who have been excluded or suspended from mainstream settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver engaging Science and Maths lessons tailored to SEMH learners.
  2. Manage challenging behaviours effectively with a positive and understanding approach.
  3. Support learners' communication needs.
  4. Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Requirements:
  1. Experience working with SEMH learners in the UK.
  2. Strong understanding of behaviour management.
  3. TeamTeach certification (desirable not essential).
  4. Experience with symbol communication systems such as Widgit, PCS, and Makaton (desirable not essential).
