Job description

Assembly Fitter

We are looking for a skilled Assembly Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and ensuring the quality of heavy-duty shaftline seals, as well as working collaboratively with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out multi-component assemblies using hand tools and lifting equipment and the testing of large multi-component assemblies.
  2. Position, align, and torque assemblies to meet drawing specifications.
  3. Work with heavy mechanical assembly, conducting fault finding and problem solving.
  4. Conduct high-pressure water and air testing of assemblies.
  5. Cut, bond, and assemble rubber components to required specifications.
  6. Work closely with engineering teams to resolve non-conforming products and support engineering in development assembly.
  7. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times.
  8. Support stores and packing teams as required by business demand.
  9. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  10. Assemble and bond rubber components.

What we're looking for:
  1. Experience in a production or engineering environment.
  2. Strong mechanical/assembly aptitude.
  3. Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  4. Familiarity with Health & Safety procedures.
  5. Good communication and teamwork skills.
  6. Experience with hydraulics, pipe fitting or heavy mechanical assembly would be desirable.
  7. Flexibility to work across different operational teams as required.
  8. A clean driver's license.
  9. Competency with Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
