My client, an award-winning law firm, is actively recruiting for an experienced Risk & Compliance professional to join them on a permanent basis – working as their new Risk & Compliance Manager.

This role will be situated in Brighton (at least to start – for training purposes) but can be based long-term in London, Gatwick or Guildford.

As the successful Risk & Compliance Manager, you’ll be responsible for the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures and providing general Risk & Compliance advice to the wider firm.

You’ll also be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  1. Supervising and training the Risk & Compliance Assistant
  2. Developing and implementing risk management policies and procedures
  3. Assisting the Head of Risk & Compliance in dealing with complaints
  4. Being the first point of contact for Fee-Earners who require advice and guidance on issues surrounding the SRA, Ethics, Conflicts or Professional Conduct
  5. Maintaining the firm's Confidential Register of Interest
  6. Assisting with due diligence work and other risk management issues
  7. Reviewing third-party terms of business

To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to have/be:

  1. Previous/existing law firm experience
  2. A solid understanding of Risk Management techniques
  3. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct Rules
  4. Ability to commute to their Brighton office (at least for training purposes)
  5. Ability to train and mentor junior members of staff
