Drivers Needed

£13.25 availability to work some days in the week and alternate weekends (£14.85 earned wage including holiday pay).

Guaranteed hours available working 5pm to 10pm.

Home Instead Cambridge is seeking caring and compassionate Elderly Befriender Care Assistants to support adults living at home. We have immediate vacancies available, with a specific focus on evening shifts between 5pm to 10pm on 2 to 4 evenings during weekdays and alternate weekends.

Shift Patterns:
  • Weekday Evenings: 5pm - 10pm
  • Weekends: Alternative weekends 5pm - 10pm or extended for more hours e.g., 7am – 10pm, 2pm – 10pm etc.

We offer flexible working hours ranging from 5 to 20 hours per week, so you can fit your shifts around other commitments. This is an ideal opportunity to make a difference while enjoying a flexible role that offers professional support and training.

Locations:

We have roles available across various areas in Cambridge, including CB1, CB2, CB3, CB4, CB5, CB21, CB22, CB23, CB24, CB25, and PE27.

Your Role as an Elderly Befriender:

As a Care Assistant, you’ll provide vital companionship and support during the evenings, which may include:

  • Companionship
  • Helping with mobility around the home
  • Assisting with some personal care
  • Overseeing medication and providing medical support
  • Helping with light housework (e.g., cleaning or vacuuming)
  • Preparing meals and snacks
  • Running errands such as food shopping or picking up prescriptions
Requirements:
  • A Valid UK Driving Licence (with access to a vehicle for work purposes)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Caring and compassionate nature
  • Willingness to work alternative weekends
