Job Title: Civil Technician

Travel required: Occasional travel to job sites and client meetings.

Work Schedule: Full Time

Supervisory status: No

Background Check: Local, State, & Federal Background checks, including driver's records and credit checks.

Position Summary:

The Civil Technician will work closely with civil engineers, architects, and other project team members to support the design and construction of infrastructure projects. This includes creating and updating technical drawings, conducting field inspections, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Duties

Technical Support:

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design software.
  • Review and update project drawings based on engineer and architect feedback.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates.

Field Work:

  • Perform site visits and inspections to gather data, take measurements, and ensure that construction activities comply with design specifications.
  • Document site conditions and communicate findings to the project team.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project records as required.
  • Assist in maintaining project files, including drawing logs, specifications, and as-built documents.
  • Support the development of project schedules and monitor progress.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure that all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies and standards.
  • Promote and adhere to safety practices in all phases of work.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving and decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Clean Background check
  • Ability to communicate clearly via phone, virtual meetings, and in person.
  • Use of personal vehicle to travel to sites. 100/300/100 liability limits required.

Qualifications (required related experience)

  • Knowledge of site planning, storm and wastewater management, road design, and traffic studies
  • Strong personal organizational and time management skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a group and on an individual basis
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, committed to professional development/continuing education

Education (required minimum education level):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree in CAD Design, Civil Engineering or another related field
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Projects, etc.)
