Job Description
The role of Assistant Accountant is really important to us. Your key role responsibilities will be:
- Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will assist the Finance Manager with all aspects of the Accounting & Financial Control functions for Radius Vehicle Solutions entities operating across Ireland.
- Preparation and review of monthly management accounts from trial balance to financial statements. This includes performing all the necessary related functions such as maintenance of the COA, completion of journals, and ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, including stock, intercompany, bank accounts, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset reporting, and intercompany balances.
- Comparing actual performance to budgets and providing accurate commentary in support of the monthly results.
- Review of direct and indirect tax submissions to the relevant authority. This includes reviewing the workings for VAT returns and Corporation Tax.
- Responsible for weekly and monthly cash flow reporting and forecasting.
- Assistance with the inter-company process, liaising with the Group Finance.
- Assistance with the year-end statutory audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing all necessary documentation and evidence.
- Point of contact for accounting queries, promoting financial understanding and control within the business, championing best practice, and ensuring you remain up to date with regulatory changes and current industry thinking.
Qualifications
- Part Qualified CIMA, ACCA, or ACA accountant with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Accounts.
- Educated to degree level, minimum 2:1.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of interacting with non-finance people to gather relevant information.
- Excellent attention to detail.
