Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our International General Accounting team at the Global Accounting Centre in Glasgow. This role involves supporting the accounting processes for our overseas regions, including EMEA, Latin America, and APAC. Reporting directly to the Overseas Finance Manager, you will be responsible for bookkeeping and producing monthly results for a recently acquired entity in Germany. This newly created role is part of our initiative to centralise accounting activities within our Global Accounting Centre.

How you'll make an impact

  • Collaborate with finance colleagues in overseas regions and the change management team to integrate regions into central group processes and enhance process quality.
  • Lead the analysis and reporting of monthly financials, ensuring timely submission to the central corporate function.
  • Prepare journal entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for month-end deadlines.
  • Support overseas regions in preparing month-end control accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with the off-shore processing team to manage month-end journal postings and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide support to Finance Business Partners and other departments for any arising queries.
  • Assist with monthly P&L and balance sheet commentary.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Overseas Finance Manager, often involving collaboration with overseas colleagues.

About You

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CA/CIMA or equivalent).
  • Previous experience with US GAAP is desirable.
  • Understanding of SoX and regulatory/control frameworks is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work confidently and autonomously.
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
