We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced External Communications and Content Senior Manager to join our global Marketing team. In this role, you’ll lead our Content and External Communications team, working closely with colleagues across the business to develop and execute a compelling content marketing strategy that enhances Mourant’s brand presence in key markets.
Your work will be varied and dynamic, covering everything from media relations and thought leadership to PR strategy and crisis communications. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with senior stakeholders, oversee high-quality content creation, and ensure our brand voice remains consistent, engaging, and impactful across all external channels.

About the role
In this role, you will:
- Develop and drive the global content marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with Mourant’s overall brand narrative, commercial objectives and client-first ethos
- Lead and mentor the Content and External Communications Team, overseeing the creation of compelling thought leadership pieces, articles, white papers and digital content
- Manage external communications efforts, including PR and media relations, to secure press coverage, manage media relationships and uphold Mourant’s reputation
- Collaborate closely with other marketing sub-teams (Campaign & Creative, Digital Marketing, Brand Communications & Engagement) to drive consistent messaging and seamless execution of campaigns and content across channels
- Implement crisis and issues management protocols, working with senior stakeholders to swiftly and effectively respond to external challenges
- Track and report on content performance, PR outcomes and directory results, using data-driven insights to optimise future strategies
- Champion brand consistency by enforcing tone-of-voice guidelines and editorial standards across all external-facing platforms
About you - essential requirements
- Significant experience in external communications, campaign and content creation and PR management, ideally within a professional services or B2B environment
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful cross channel content strategies that support brand and commercial objectives
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team
- Outstanding creative copywriting and editorial skills, with meticulous attention to detail and an ability to convey complex ideas in an engaging, client-friendly manner
- Advanced stakeholder management skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders, lawyers and colleagues across multiple geographies
- Analytical approach, with confidence using data and metrics to evaluate content performance, PR reach and media impact, and to inform continuous improvement
