The role of this Personal Care Assistant
Our personal care assistants join our clients support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. This role is for 10 hours per week which can be organised flexibly with the family. It is anticipated that you will work for half a day on a weekend and on a weekday evening, however there is the option to 'save hours' to enable our client to have a day trip out. There may also be the opportunity to cover some overnight respite.
About The Client And Duties
Our client is a gentleman in his 30's who has autism and limited understanding. He loves to be with adults, talking and sharing information. He enjoys being outdoors and out and about and his hobbies include walking, swimming, visiting coffee shops and going out for meals. He sometimes likes watching Disney films, National History documentaries and listening to the news. Our client is also a good talker with fantastic social skills. The ideal support worker for our client will help to keep him grounded by creating a stress-free environment, by displaying patience in response to his repetitive questions and who will keep him safe. You will help with personal care, medication and patches, cooking and domestic tasks around the home (our client likes things to be clean and tidy). You will need to drive for this role as you will accompany/support our client to enjoy his interests out and about in the community.
Training And Support
We provide comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering:
All training must be completed before the start date, with training hours paid at minimum wage.
