Aspiring Therapist - SEN TA

Full Time - ASAP Start - Thatcham

An amazing specialist education centre in Thatcham, West Berks is excited to welcome an Aspiring Therapist graduate to join their support staff team on a full-time basis. The specialist educates students with a variety of social, emotional, and mental health needs. As an Aspiring Therapist, you will be supporting students with additional needs, some of whom are struggling with challenges related to developmental trauma and neglect. These young people need consistency and patience to help them achieve an education, providing a perfect opportunity for any Aspiring Therapist to see how they can make a difference.

The role's responsibilities will include supporting students on a 1-1 basis, ensuring they maintain focus and stay on task. You will work with the classroom teacher to develop tailored lesson plans. You will collaborate with dedicated, professional therapists, psychologists, and behavior analysts to ensure students can reach their full potential, offering a rare opportunity for any Aspiring Therapist to see where their career could take them. The successful candidate will learn effective communication skills, confidence, and how to coach young people through turbulent situations.

Graduates (Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, etc.) are encouraged to apply; experience with SEN/SEMH children and/or adults would be desirable but not mandatory.
