Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

Your Responsibilities:

Order and Production Management

  • Maintain rolling orderbooks and notify customers of changes.
  • Ensure production plans are feasible to meet customer deadlines.
  • Evaluate planned orders and create production schedules.
  • Oversee production schedules to meet delivery goals.
  • Respond to customer order requests via ERP system.

Inventory and Supply Chain Control

  • Control inventory levels to balance stock and optimize turns.
  • Monitor material flow, address shortages or bottlenecks.
  • Update materials plans and collaborate with production schedulers.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Act as key planning contact for internal customer calls.
  • Liaise with procurement, manufacturing, and customer service teams.
  • Keep customer service informed of order status and changes.

Problem Solving and Issue Resolution

  • Address supply issues, escalate as needed, and adjust plans.
  • Manage drawing changes and ensure BOM accuracy.

Reporting and Targets

  • Manage monthly/quarterly billing and inventory targets.
  • Participate in planning meetings and review MOQs, lead times, and safety stocks.
What your background should look like:
  • Experienced in materials planning 2-3 years
  • Experienced in SAP is a must have or similar MRP system
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Highly effective communication skills in all forms
  • Highly organized with an ability to work effectively to deadlines
  • A high attention to detail with an ability to follow through on commitments
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills including intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Excel
