Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Clinical Education team as a Clinical Skills Training Officer, responsible for delivering skills education and training. The primary focus of the role is to deliver the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) training program for cohorts of Internationally Educated Nurses, working with colleagues with a wealth of experience and enabling them to gain their NMC registration.

You will be a registered professional and have a strong commitment to supporting the development of others.

Main duties of the job

Skills

With the support of the Clinical Skills Educator, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery, assessment, and evaluation of:
  1. The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) training program for cohorts of Internationally Educated Nurses, which includes a range of clinical skills training.
  2. Continued professional development of skills and competencies for professionals within PTHB, with clinical skills such as venipuncture and cannulation, IV Medication etc.
  3. Clinical skills education and training in relation to the All-Wales Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) Framework.

  • Current, active registration with the NMC
  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional development
  • Experience in supporting the development of others i.e., pre-registration healthcare professional students

  • Working experience of delivering training experience to staff
  • Recognised Teaching qualification or Certificate / PGCE or equivalent

  • Relevant experience working in a healthcare setting
