Position Summary

The Bandag plant in Oxford has been in operation for over 50 years, producing tread rubber and retreading materials for Bandag dealers. Bandag is a critical piece of Bridgestone dedicated to the research, development, and manufacturing of premium retread tires. Bridgestone seeks energetic and motivated Production Technicians to join our manufacturing team in Oxford, NC. As a Manufacturing Production Technician, you will focus on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production equipment.

12 Hour Night Shift

$3000 sign on Bonus
Pay ranging from $32 - $39/ hour

Responsibilities

As part of the Maintenance Team you will be working to deliver solutions to improve our process reliability, product quality and plant-wide performance.

Some of the duties of the instrumentation and control technician are:

1. Consulting diagrams and technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, standards and codes;
2. Maintaining backup and revision documentation for control systems and instrumentation;
3. Manage SCADA type devices in an industrial based environment;
4. Installing, configuring, calibrating and maintaining control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital);
5. Configuring and programming Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Programmable Automation Controllers (PAC);
6. Organize and order PLC control components in order to maintain plant process control systems;
7. Work with corporate IT staff as required with miscellaneous network and computer activities;
8. Prepare technical reports for documenting issues/changes to equipment;
9. Manage projects for implementing changes and improvements;
10. Be on call to support production needs;
11. Installing and terminating electrical, pneumatic and fluid connections;
12. Inspecting and testing the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults;
13. Removing, repairing, adjusting and replacing components;
14. Calibrating components and systems;
15. Assisting engineering in plant design, modification and hazard analysis;
16. Maintaining various computer-based control systems;
17. Performing scheduled maintenance programs;
18. Keeping up-to-date with advances in technology in industry and the trade.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or GED;
2. Minimum 2 years relevant experience;
3. Associates, specialized training or Bachelors is preferred.

Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree.
