Environment and Safety Advisor

Location: Manchester region

Overview:

A large manufacturing business with a varied client is creating a brand new position!
An exciting opportunity for an Environmental professional with a keen interest in Health and Safety.
This role will focus primarily on environmental responsibilities while supporting continuous improvement in health and safety across the business.
If you are looking for a role where you can make an impact, drive sustainability initiatives, and maintain ISO14001 accreditation, this is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain the environmental management system in line with ISO14001 standards.
Conduct internal training on EHS topics and communicate effectively on environmental issues.
Support internal HSE auditing, conduct audits, and maintain ISO14001 compliance.
Respond to customer/regulator requests, providing sustainability and environmental data.
Develop carbon footprinting methods and monitor Scope 1-3 emissions.
Maintain the environmental legal register and ensure compliance with legislation.
Support the implementation of ISO45001 and drive continuous improvement in health and safety.
Assist in risk assessments, accident investigations, and policy implementation.
Host customer and third-party audits and recommend new accreditations when necessary.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Environmental focused qualification
Minimum of 1-year experience in an environmental compliance role.
A Safety based qualification or understanding
Experience with ISO14001 principles
Strong administrative skills and ability to drive sustainability initiatives.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
