We're seeking an experienced HSE professional to join our UK&IRL team of HSE professionals, to support the UK&IRL business in its goal of world class safety performance.

About role:- Support the full lifecycle of renewable assets (wind, solar, PV & battery storage) with the implementation of HSE management systems, safe systems of work procedures and other risk control measures.
- Pro-actively drive and coordinate all HSE matters within UK&IRL.
- Provide expert, balanced and professional HSE advice to the UK&IRL.
- Work with peers across the wider global fleet to support the sharing of knowledge and insight to contribute to our company continuous improvement.
- The role is hybrid based, with flexibility required as and when demands occur.
Main responsibilities:- The provision of health, safety and environmental-related assistance for the UK&IRL business.
- Proactively support and advise staff as well as line/functional/project management in meeting their HSE responsibility and the development and promotion of an excellent HSE culture.
- Support effective implementation and continuous improvement of the UK&IRL HSE Management System requirements for the in scope technologies and sites.
- Ensure legal HSE requirements are identified and considered, and achieving compliance is supported and evaluated on a regular basis.
- Conduct Root Cause Analyses (if required in the business units) in a self-reliant manner, especially when it comes to events with severe consequences and events with high damage potential incl. consultation/cooperation with the respective authorities/entities in charge.
- Conduct and support risk and hazard assessments and derive actions.
- Support emergency and crisis management.
- Conduct integrated Safety walk programs, inspections and audits.
- Plan and follow-up of HSE activities at a local level.
- Support the occupational health & safety committee meetings either required by law or corporate requirements.
- Take over special assignments, including acting as a main point of contact or lead for particular HSE specialist work or projects.
Your profile:- Completed educational studies (M.Sc./Diploma) in a relevant subject area (engineering-related/safety/risk engineering or similar studies) or a technical education (e.g. electrician, operations & maintenance) with further HSE-specific qualifications or equivalent.
- Comprehensive job experience (> 3 years) and HSE-specific qualifications, preferably in the Renewables energy sector.
- High degree of self-directed initiative and personal responsibility.
- Decision-making attitude.
- Good assertiveness, persuasiveness, and openness to dialogue.
- Pronounced team spirit and communication skills.
- Good level of facilitation and presentation skills.
- Agile way of working in conjunction with a high willingness to travel (approx. 50 % of time within region) and including occasional international travel.
- Networked and cross-sector mindset in an international environment.
- Relevant internationally recognised qualification as a HSE professional.
- Be capable of completing the GWO BST qualification.
