An established veterinary practice in the picturesque South Downs seeks a dedicated Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon. This role offers a balanced work-life experience with no out-of-hours on-call duties and a supportive team environment. With a commitment to professional development, including CPD allowances and certificate support, you'll have the opportunity to grow your skills while providing exceptional care to patients. Join a friendly, close-knit team where your contributions matter and enjoy a variety of cases in a well-equipped facility. This is more than just a job; it's a chance to make a real difference in the lives of animals and their owners.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our longstanding and established team. At Cliffe, the workload is equally shared covering consults, surgeries and the three branches to offer full clinical exposure and a varied working day. This is an opportunity to work amongst a supportive and encouraging team and to live and work in the beautiful South Downs. We are always very keen to invest in our employees and would endorse and support certificates and further postgraduate study if you have a chosen interest. Helping to teach and mentor our newer graduates is an important part of the role therefore we are looking for a vet with at least one to two years’ experience. A desire to consult and operate is preferred and a driving licence is necessary to travel between the local practices.
There is no out-of-hours on-call, but some weekend consults and inpatient care will be required on a rota basis (this is over 7 days). We believe in providing a stable work-life balance to our team, so following a weekend on-call, you will have a 3.5-day working week.
Cliffe Veterinary Group is a large mixed practice with dedicated Small Animal, Farm and Equine departments. We are a progressive, well-equipped (laparoscopy, digital radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound/doppler to name a few), RCVS accredited practice with a varied surgical and medical caseload. We have a full-time laboratory technician who will run a very large range of diagnostics “in-house” to provide an exceptional level of care for our patients. We are located in the vibrant, historic market town of Lewes. We are just 10 miles from Brighton, one hour by train to London and a short drive or train of 30 minutes to Gatwick Airport.
We have an exceptional team at Cliffe Vets, and you’d be an integral addition. Our Small Animal team comprises 9 Vets, 9 Nurses, and 11 Support team members. We are a friendly and diverse team, with several of us who have been here for many years. We are certainly a social and close-knit team that strives in our working environment one that is a pleasure to be a part of.
