The Opportunity:
Explore Manufacturing are looking for an experienced Production Leader to lead a competent and motivated workforce, manufacturing quality product, right first time, in line with client requirements. Delivering consistently to plan, in a timely and cost-effective way whilst operating responsibly and sustainably. The Production Leader has a team of three shift focused Production Team Leaders who share a team of fifty.

What will the role look like?

  • Assuring we operate a Safety-First culture
  • Maintaining a fully trained, competent, managed and motivated workforce
  • Ensuring we fully understand risks exposed to employees, contractors or visitors, and ensure adequate controls are in place
  • Working in accordance with Next Gear principles, ensuring all activities are supported by suitable and sufficient risk assessments and safe working practice
  • Ensuring all operational equipment is fit for purpose and is frequently inspected
  • Maintaining operational areas and environments to a high standard
  • Manufacturing quality product to the highest achievable standards
  • Delivering Production to plan, collaboratively agreed with the planning function
  • Utilising business forecasts, looking ahead to make foreseeable judgements on necessary requirements
  • Investigating departmental occurrences (HSE / Quality) to identify necessary preventative measures
  • Managing all forms of cost in line with departmental cost centres and operational budgets

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Experienced leader with a manufacturing / operational background, ideally in concrete products / building materials / construction management.
  • Industry or professional experience relevant to the precast concrete / building materials industry
  • Appropriate Safety Management qualification
  • History of self-improvement through training
  • Self-motivated, proven team player, capable of managing a busy production team
