Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidates must be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the EYFS and promote learning through play.
- Work with children aged 3 months to 5 years using the EYFS curriculum.
- Organise and plan activities based on the children's interests and next steps.
- Work in an inclusive community setting helping every child to reach their full potential.
- Work in partnership with parents to promote children’s learning and development.
- Complete essential day-to-day tasks in line with the demands of the area you are working within, e.g., hygiene standards and room preparation.
- Ensure the children you care for are fully supervised, safe, and well cared for, leading by example to drive the culture of Safeguarding Children.
- Provide support for your team and colleagues within the nursery.
- Deliver high-quality Early Childhood practice and experiences for all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, promoting emotional wellbeing by embedding the EYFS curriculum.
- Meet Health and Safety standards by risk assessing all areas in the nursery and ensuring the children are safe.
- Be highly motivated, driven, and willing to learn.
- Support nursery planning, observations, record keeping, and assessments.
- Support with children’s daily needs, interests, and stages of development.
- Maintain confidentiality and always remain professional.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children within Early Years.
- Full and relevant Level 1 or equivalent in childcare qualification.
- 12 hours paediatric first aid (can be completed as part of agency induction programme).
- Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly (can be completed as part of agency induction).
- This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Certificate and satisfactory employment references.
- The successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant training needed for the role.
