Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required.

We are looking for a Travelling Piano Teacher with their own vehicle to teach students in their own homes in the south Manchester area (Trafford/Altrincham/Stockport/Didsbury) and north Manchester areas (Salford/Whitefield/Prestwich). A travel fee per household will be provided on top of the hourly rate.

You will be joining a team of ten teachers currently teaching over 150 students.

Training, support and teaching resources provided. We cover most of the administrative duties for the organisation, to allow teachers to concentrate on their students.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering piano and music theory lessons
  • Helping to organise teaching schedule
  • Communicating schedule changes and student progress with parents
  • Preparing students for exams and recitals
  • Supporting other teachers as part of the team

Our responsibilities:

  • Sourcing new students for teacher's schedules
  • Ongoing training and support for teachers
  • Providing access to our music library and subscription services
  • Providing games and resources to aid teachers in the lessons
  • Organising teacher schedules
  • Booking exams and organising recitals
  • Invoicing and communicating with parents/students

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle is required
  • Able to play to Grade 8 level on the piano
  • At least Grade 5 level understanding of Music Theory
  • Teaching experience not necessary as training and support is provided
  • Degree in Music is preferred but not necessary
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willing to apply for one)
  • Member of a music union

Pay: £20.00-£24.00 per hour - this is based on the administrative work and support we provide to allow our teachers to focus purely on teaching.

Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week

  • Teaching: 1 year (preferred)

  • Driving Licence (required)
