Part-Time Janitor

Grade 2 £5466 per annum

10 hrs per week, term time only

Perton Middle School is a vibrant, exciting and dynamic learning environment which embodies the value we place on working with our students to achieve the very best outcomes for each and every one.

We are looking to recruit a dedicated Janitor at Perton Middle School to work under the direction and instruction of senior staff to provide routine cleaning and/or caretaking tasks to support the effective operation of the school. Responsibilities include:

  1. Unlock and secure premises at agreed times and maintain the key(s) in their possession for emergency call-out.
  2. Check that the heating and lighting systems are operating satisfactorily and check their efficiency with regard to energy conservation.
  3. Check fire and/or security alarms are working satisfactorily.
  4. Ensure that premises are in a safe, tidy, and satisfactory condition prior to use.
  5. Maintain vigilance for Health and Safety concerns in and around the building including checking outside areas for syringes, broken glass, etc., and disposing of them appropriately.
