Job description

CNC Machinist (Milling) - Industrial Systems and Engineering - West Midlands

Permanent - Attractive - Only British and UK Candidates are Eligible.

A CNC Machinist is required to join an International Industrial Systems and Engineering company that Designs, Manufactures, Assembles, Tests and Commissions Industrial Systems. The successful CNC Machinist will be reporting to the CNC Shift Supervisor.

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for machining parts on CNC machinery with Fanuc or Heidenhain controls. The CNC Machinist must be able to programme, set, and operate the machine to produce accurate components, working to drawings and specifications with minimum supervision.

This CNC Machinist role comes with a shift premium for working double day shifts and qualifies for Paid O/T as required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Write basic programmes for your own work during machining operations wherever practical.
  2. Plan the setting up and holding of your own work including making up fixtures as required.
  3. Produce a wide range of low volume or one-off machined parts that satisfy the time, cost, and quality requirements stated in the work instructions.
  4. Collaborate with the Production Engineer to ensure right-first time (RFT) and efficient machining processes.
  5. Work to tight tolerances and check own work during production.
  6. Maintain accurate records for all work to satisfy company standards and procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  1. Apprentice trained and a good understanding of manufacturing methods.
  2. Experience on CNC machinery with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
  3. Machinist who has worked on low volume medium to large sized fabricated components.
  4. Able to take ownership of the tooling, fixtures, programming, setting, and operating.
  5. Assure the component quality conformance.
  6. Able to demonstrate a passion and pride in their work and working area.
  7. A willingness to be flexible for business requirements including overtime and weekend work.
  8. Experienced machinist who has produced high tolerance machined parts.
  9. Be able to read engineering drawings, understand tolerances and machine finishes.
  10. Experience of machining various materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloys.
  11. An excellent attention to detail, self-motivated and able to take responsibility for own work.
  12. Work in a conscientious manner working to high levels of cleanliness, safety, and quality.
  13. Be able to use measuring equipment such as micrometres and verniers.

Security Clearance (SC) will be required due to the nature of the products involved therefore only British and UK Candidates are Eligible.
