JOB TITLE: Cleaning Operative

LOCATION: Arena Shopping Park, Coventry

CONTRACT: Temporary Maternity Cover starting from the 1st of April 2025

WORKING HOURS: 30 hours per week, 4 out of 7 days per week

PAY RATE: £12.80 per hour

Role Overview And Purpose

This is a permanent contract. Arena Shopping Park is an indoor and outdoor shopping centre housing over 30 retail shops and restaurants. We are looking to appoint an experienced cleaner to help provide a well maintained, clean and tidy shopping environment. The customer experience should be at the heart of everything you do.

Key Responsibilities

As an ABM cleaning operative your role will be to deliver cleaning services to client facilities in and around the building to a high standard, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, removing litter, cleaning glass doors/windows, cleaning stainless-steel fixtures and bollards, and removing chewing gum.
2. Using a ride on floor scrubber dryer to polish and clean floors.
3. Cleaning public toilets, cleaning and sanitising fixtures, cleaning mirrors, doors/walls and sinks, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning urinals.
4. Emptying bins, collecting waste from retailers, and compacting and organising waste in service yard.
5. Litter picking outside in car parking area.
6. Maintenance of cleaning equipment and re-stocking supplies.
7. Assist team supervisors when needed to ensure optimum service to clients.
8. Perform additional duties as needed, within reason.
9. Comply with training sessions delivered by the supervisor/line manager as necessary.

Required Skills And Experience

1. Good inter-personal and communication skills.
2. Ability to use own initiative to identify and prioritise tasks.
3. Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
4. Approachable and courteous manner.

Essential

1. Cleaning experience in both an indoor and an outdoor setting.
2. English fluency.
3. Flexible approach to shift pattern starting as early as 6am and finishing as late as 9pm once a week.

DESIRABLE

Experience using a variety of cleaning machinery such as scrubber dryers, buffers, carpet cleaners, road sweepers.
