A skilled machinist is responsible for the set-up and proper operation of Manual and CNC lathes and turning centers used in the production of centrifugal pumps parts. Very qualified machinist with diversified skills on most machines in the company's operation (both manual & CNC). Performs a variety of machining operations with close tolerances and a significant variety of parts. Can perform difficult set-ups and all necessary hand operations in order to produce a very high level of quality product. Conducts PM's on equipment. This position requires independent judgement with limited supervision and may be required to guide the efforts of others in the same or lower grade levels.

Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  1. Operates industrial machining equipment, Manual or CNC lathes and mills.
  2. Performs equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance.
  3. Has the ability to use, read and interpret micrometers, calipers, and precision instruments.
  4. Sets up and operates machines to produce quality parts and or tools to meet production deadlines.
  5. Maintains quality and safety standards, keeps record, and maintains equipment/supplies.
  6. Other job duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; Technical or Trade college certificate.
  2. 3-5 years of machining experience.
  3. Strong attention to detail and time management.

Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.

The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of job. Visits to our manufacturing facility and suppliers’ facilities is required to monitor active projects and address design issues.
