A specialist SEN school in Uxbridge is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teacher to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly supportive and resourceful environment, ensuring that every student has the tools to develop communication, independence, and life skills.
- Deliver personalised and adaptive lessons tailored to the needs of students with PMLD.
- Use a multisensory approach to engage students, incorporating visual, auditory, and tactile learning techniques.
- Implement EHCP (Education, Health & Care Plan) goals to ensure individual progress.
- Work closely with SEN TAs, therapists, and medical staff to provide holistic support.
- Foster an inclusive, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
- Assist students with personal care, communication aids, and mobility support where needed.
- Be a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) with experience in SEN or PMLD settings.
- Have knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), sensory integration, and assistive technology.
- Be patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting students with complex needs.
- Have strong teamwork skills, working alongside therapists, support staff, and families.
- Be comfortable with providing personal care support as part of the role.
