Position: Building Maintenance Technician

Hours: 40 hours per week – (OT is available MON-FRI at time and a half, SAT-SUN double time)

We are advertising this Building Maintenance Technician role on behalf of our client ‘City Facilities Management’. City was established in 1985 and has grown to become one of the world’s largest privately held, integrated FM companies.

Job Purpose:

This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of site locations. The role involves non-technical repairs and minor PPM’s, primarily plumbing-based, along with basic electrical and mechanical plant works at various sites.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Prioritising and completing minor maintenance and repair work to agreed timescales.
  2. Completing all necessary PPM’s and reactive maintenance schedules within agreed timescales and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
  3. Responding promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assessing job requirements to carry out repairs as necessary.
  4. Ensuring all tools and equipment necessary for minor maintenance and repairs are available and serviceable.
  5. Although aligned to an area for PPM completion, attending other sites within the Division may be required.
  6. Working with company and client colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained.
  7. Representing the company professionally and developing good working relationships with City and client colleagues.
  8. Supporting other City technicians/teams with any major or minor maintenance work.
  9. Carrying out all tasks in accordance with specific KPI’s.
  10. Monitoring and updating the Mercury system including live job updates.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Plumbing experience, ideally with a qualification, is essential.
  2. Trade qualifications would be advantageous.
  3. Full driving license is essential.
  4. Previous experience in building maintenance is required.
  5. Ability to maintain and repair a range of equipment.
  6. Quality of repairs and maintenance.
  7. Speed and efficiency of work.
  8. Good PC Skills – Apple and Android.
  9. Response to service call requests within agreed response times.
  10. Achievement of PPM schedule within agreed timescales.
  11. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
