Job description

Are you interested in Science and keen to pursue a career where you can make a meaningful impact? If so, then we are looking for you! We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic self-starter to join our Inorganics Team as an Analyst.

With a degree in a science-related subject, you will analyse and investigate results for a range of scientific work alongside Senior Analysts and Technicians.

LOCATION: Consett

WORKING PATTERN: Mon – Fri (0900-1700)

Main Responsibilities
  1. Analysis and preparation of laboratory samples and reagents in accordance with laboratory test procedures.
  2. Responsible for hitting daily targets and deadlines as set by the Team Leader.
  3. The calculation and interpretation of analytical results.
  4. Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.
  5. Ensuring Quality procedures are adhered to.
  6. Data entry into LIMS.
  7. Calibration, equipment and balance checks.
  8. Housekeeping, ensuring the laboratory work area is clean, tidy and free from rubbish.
  9. Part of the weekend rota team.
Qualifications required:
  1. HNC or degree in a science related subject and two years laboratory experience.
Experience required:
  1. Experience using GC-FID, GCGC, GC-MS or LC-MS systems would be advantageous.
