Fabric Engineer – Facilities Maintenance

Location: Exeter
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role
PRS is proud to be recruiting for an experienced Fabric Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading company in the facilities maintenance sector. This is a permanent, full-time position based at a single, static site, offering stability and the opportunity to work within a professional and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the site.
  2. Handle a variety of fabric maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, decorating, minor plumbing, and general building upkeep.
  3. Collaborate with the wider facilities team and assist with other maintenance tasks when required.
  4. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and site protocols.
  5. Deliver excellent customer service to site staff and visitors.

About You:

  1. Previous experience as a Fabric Engineer or in a similar facilities maintenance role.
  2. Versatile skill set, including carpentry, painting, decorating, and basic plumbing.
  3. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  4. Strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  5. A commitment to delivering a high standard of service.
