Our Scotland Mechanical team is looking for a highly proficient Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team.

What you’ll do!

1. Technical excellence in the specification, production and assessment of design packages for infrastructure.
2. Assessment of work control procedures for maintenance of infrastructure.
3. Assessment of infrastructure design, material state, qualification and ageing mechanisms to permit the continued operation of facilities and utilities.
4. Discharge and display a robust safety and security culture.
5. Ensure outputs of safety related contracts meet the contract requirements and appropriate safety requirements by acting as an intelligent customer.

Requirements:

Essential:

1. HNC or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline
2. Detailed knowledge of the Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear industry or similar industry
3. Broad experience in mechanical engineering, preferably with experience of some of the following Mechanical systems: Pump systems, cranes, heating ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC), pressure systems and Diesel Generators.
4. Experience of working within the nuclear industry or any other high hazard industry, although this is not considered essential.
5. Ability to provide practical, creative and cost-effective solutions for design changes / modifications of plant and supporting Infrastructure.

Important Details:

1. Due to the nature of the work undertaken successful applicants will need to have active UK SC Clearance or the ability to gain UK SC clearance.
2. This role will also require you to work onsite in Glasgow 3 days per week.
