Job description

Following Clare Slater’s appointment as Head of Play Development at the National Theatre, we are now seeking a dynamic and accomplished theatre-maker who is excited by our artistic mission to lead HighTide. With the endorsement of the Board, the AD/CEO sets the strategic direction for HighTide, holding overall responsibility for its artistic vision, overseeing all aspects of activity and maintaining the highest artistic standards while ensuring the organisation’s financial sustainability.

As well as leading HighTide’s artistic programme, the successful candidate will have the experience and appetite to liaise with the supportive Board, line manage the staff team and ensure excellent financial discipline. The role is open to theatre-makers who have extensive experience supporting playwrights, developing scripts and taking them into high quality production. This could include dramaturgs, directors, playwrights or producers. The Board actively encourages those who live in or have strong connections to the East of England to apply. We welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements.
