Ocean Freight Export Coordinator – Manchester

Shift pattern – Monday-Friday

Location: Manchester

Salary: Up to £30,000

We have an exciting opportunity for an Ocean Freight Export Operator to join a well-established freight forwarder renowned for their expertise in air, road, sea, and warehousing services. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about logistics and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As the Senior Ocean Freight Export Operator, you’ll play a crucial role in our team, ensuring that every shipment is handled seamlessly. You’ll oversee the end-to-end process of ocean import logistics, from tracking shipments and managing documentation to coordinating with customs and resolving any issues that arise.

Responsibilities

• Oversee & independently handle shipments in the role of Ocean freight Exports in accordance with quality standards, including documentation, booking, shipment control, transport insurance, accounting, and customs handling
• Provide customer support in conjunction with the Sales Department, including occasional client visits when required
• Handle complaints in line with BIFA Terms and Conditions, including correct KPI recording
• Communicate with our UK, overseas offices, and agents
• Focus on ensuring the most cost-effective service solutions are being utilized without risk to service levels

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within Freight forwarding (UK based), in Sea freight Export Operation
• Previous experience in Ocean freight Export operations
• Handling shipments start to finish
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
