Opportunity: Senior Banking and Finance Lawyer (5-8 PQE)

My client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Banking and Finance Lawyer to join their market-leading team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-profile, mid-market financing transactions domestically and internationally.

About the Team:

My client's team of 26 lawyers, based across the UK, operates as a unified force, advising on a broad spectrum of financing transactions. This includes acquisition finance, corporate lending, asset/receivables finance, project finance, derivatives, and debt capital markets. Their work spans key sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, mining, housing, and various corporate areas, including financial services, private equity, and technology. They also work closely with the restructuring and insolvency team, offering a diverse range of experiences.

The team prides itself on providing direct client exposure, fostering business development skills, and offering comprehensive training and development. They are currently involved in significant mandates within energy and infrastructure (hydrogen, offshore wind, fibre broadband), asset finance, and acquisition/corporate banking (working with a wide range of lenders and borrowers).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a broad range of non-contentious general banking matters, focusing on one or more of the areas mentioned above.
• Act for banks, borrowers, and private equity houses on mid-market and investment-grade financing transactions.
• Draft and negotiate loan facility, security, inter-creditor, and ancillary documents.
• Prepare facility documentation and advise on leveraged acquisition finance.
• Advise on corporate lending, asset-backed/receivables finance, and project finance transactions.
• Manage cross-border transactions, including coordinating with overseas legal counsel. Advise on ISDA and other hedging and credit support documentation.
• Collaborate with other practice areas, such as corporate, real estate, and pensions. Mentor and support junior team members.
• Actively participate in business development activities.

About You:

• Qualified Lawyer with 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in banking and finance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Strong understanding of the commercial issues involved in finance transactions.
• Experience managing high-value transactions with minimal supervision and negotiating key documents.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to inspire confidence in clients, partners, and peers.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development.
