Job description

Giacom is the only provider of Comms, Cloud, Hardware and Billing through one platform.

Our platform connects technology resellers and service providers to the best IT, Comms and Cloud products and services so they can create brilliant technology solutions for UK businesses.

Platform DevOps and in turn the Run teams are responsible for the performance, stability, reliability, and security of our customer facing platforms across Marketplace & Tools. It is a multi-disciplined department consisting of Platform Engineers, Platform Developers and Platform Service who work closely with the other departments and teams across Platform Product and the wider business.

This is a Technical and varied role offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work with all stakeholders across the business, very much in a value-add capacity.

As well as providing general platform support, you will be part of a team responsible for bug fixing, performance optimisation, security, in-life technical debt reduction and infrastructure reliability and scalability as well as helping support the other areas of Platform developing and running infrastructure, COTS Products and Services for the applications to make sure the customer platforms can handle the expected load and recover from failures.

For this role, we are looking for a blended mix of .Net Software Engineering and Dev Ops, as per the technical requirements below.

What you'll be doing
  • Responsible for 2nd line support and DevOps delivery across our customer facing platforms.
  • Management & configuration of our COTS platforms.
  • Manage and take ownership of support request, issues, incidents, and defects across the platforms.
  • Manage and take ownership of DevOps & implementation requests across the platforms working with the wider platform teams.
  • Engaging with Management & Stakeholders.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues, incident and bugs across our platforms.
  • Accountable for proactively managing and prioritising ticket queue and ensuring that all incidents and requests are accurately logged and updated in accordance with our SLA’s and procedures within our ITSM system.
  • Contribute effectively to the establishment and maintenance of the Platform departmental knowledge, documenting clear instructions and known fixes.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Demonstratable experience within the DevOps space.
  • Demonstrable experience working as a .Net Engineer, or working to 2nd/3rd line support within a .Net application environment.
  • SQL Development experience and skills.
  • Demonstratable experience within the Cloud space (AWS & Azure).
  • Demonstratable experience with Infrastructure & Databases.
  • An understanding of CI/CD, change management and release management.
  • Client-centric approach with ability to be flexible with workload patterns.
  • Demonstratable experience with Atlassian tools and processes across Agile spaces.
  • Knowledge of scripting across technologies such as powershell, bash, python, etc…
