At North Manchester General Hospital Pharmacy, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer.

You will need good communication skills for liaising with ward staff, pharmacy staff, porters and drivers. You must be able to work accurately and quickly under pressure and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient-focused service. Please note that there is an element of heavy lifting required on occasion. Equipment and training is provided.

The post offers an attractive salary, and 27 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays) per year.

Main duties of the job

The role will include providing a ward stock topping up service of pharmaceutical products, reception duties including logging information, receiving goods from the suppliers, dispensing prescriptions and housekeeping duties.

Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. You will be required to study for and gain an NVQ 2 qualification; if you already hold a level 4 qualification, you may be required to self-fund this qualification.

There will be a requirement to participate in extended hours working including late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

Working for our organisation

MFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of £2.8bn and is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts. We’re creating an exceptional integrated health and social care system for the 1 million patients who rely on our services every year.

We’re proud to be a major academic Research Centre and Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. What’s more, we’re excited to be embarking on our Green Plan which sets out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.
