Head of Scheduling and Resource Management

18 months fixed term contract initially

As Head of Scheduling & Resource Management, you will be responsible for leading and managing the scheduling team to ensure efficient planning and creation of timetables. You will manage and develop our team of 10 to ensure we continually improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of the processes and services provided by the team, ultimately to provide quality teaching to our higher education students, ensuring our academic teams are fully informed and utilized.

You’ll have a varied workload, here’s a flavour of what’s involved:

  1. Lead and manage the team to ensure efficient timetables are being created through monitoring of academic allocation and room resources.
  2. Monitoring of student to group allocation to ensure efficient use of space within timetables.
  3. Create and maintain a good working relationship with Head of Estates and Facilities to ensure accurate level of communication and understanding of campus requirements.
  4. Ensure timetables are created within the SLA timeframe for both students and lecturers.
  5. Ensure processes are followed with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  6. Attend meetings with both the international and home sales team to ensure the scheduling team are working to latest forecasts.
  7. Responsible for proactively dealing with timetabling conflicts, resolving queries, problem solving, and contingency planning to prevent problems.
  8. Responsible for the continual development of systems and processes to ensure the students and academic staff have a high-quality experience at the university with a focus on customer service.

Occasional travel required

Bring your experience:

  1. Proven leader with demonstrable experience in a Timetabling/Scheduling Management role.
  2. Proven track record of delivering complex operational management across multifaceted professional service functions.
  3. Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to create an environment where others are empowered to make their best contribution.
  4. Experience of working with external partners, developing and maintaining positive working relationships.
  5. Experience of monitoring service delivery and quality.
