Learning Support Assistant| Secondary | SE7 Charlton

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to support for secondary aged pupils who have a wide range of moderate learning and behavioural needs. All students that attend the school have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) which details their specific needs in terms of the care and support they will have access to.

At Remedy we are seeking a caring and committed a qualified Learning Support Assistant, with previous experience working with a qualification in Trauma Informed. The School is based in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, in South East London. This is a 'trauma informed' school that provides a unique, specialist environment that closely fits the needs and challenges that the students face.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of young learners.
• Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
• Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

Standard Requirement:

• Strong Maths and English
• A psychology/Sociology degree or specialist SEN training is highly desirable
• Proven ability working with SEND pupils
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Preferable)
