Job description

Job Title: Primary Learning Support Assistant

Location: Colchester
Salary: £85 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Colchester is seeking a dedicated Primary Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Support children in their learning and development, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Provide tailored support through one-on-one or small group interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers to create inclusive and engaging learning opportunities.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and promote a positive, safe learning environment.
  • Track student progress and provide valuable feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encourage student independence, confidence, and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or similar role is desirable.
  • Understanding of SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to helping children succeed academically and emotionally.

Please note: This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful candidates must satisfy all safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check on the update service.
