Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they’re likely to die from.

We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life, through 3 ways:

  1. Growing and transforming our direct care and support
  2. Delivering more practical information and support
  3. Leading in shaping the end-of-life experience

Your role in our mission…..

We’re looking for 5 Community Fundraisers for the following areas of the UK:

  • North London
  • Cornwall
  • Bradford/Leeds

To ensure we can continue our important work, our Fundraising team are incredibly important. Since the pandemic, fundraising at Marie Curie has been through a lot of change. However, the organisation recognises the importance of our activity within communities across the UK and community fundraising has been invested in. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join the team. We have a lot of ambition and just need the right people to join us who can help us realise that.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Region and working closely with some of the most talented fundraising people in the charity sector, our Community Fundraisers build and develop fundraising relationships in the community, supporting our Fundraising Groups and Volunteers to raise the vital funds that we need to deliver our Community Fundraising strategy.

In this varied role you will build and develop fundraising relationships in the community supporting people to raise funds through internal and 3rd party events, recruit, induct, train and provide ongoing leadership to Fundraising Groups and Volunteers across the region.
