Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Berkshire / West London
Salary: 55,000 – 62,000 per annum (DOE)

Are you an experienced and qualified Financial Controller looking to join a fast–paced, growing company? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a confident, detail–oriented finance professional to take ownership of financial operations in a well–established wholesale and distribution business.
This is a hands–on finance role ideal for someone with strong experience in financial reporting, payroll, VAT, and team management who thrives in a dynamic SME environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
- Manage payroll processing, P11Ds, HMRC submissions, and statutory reporting.
- Submit accurate VAT returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Deliver cashflow forecasting, daily financial updates and key business insights.
- Support with budgeting, forecasting, and decision–making analysis.
- Assist with year–end audit prep and liaise with external auditors.
- Lead and mentor a small finance team.
Requirements:
- ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of UK payroll, VAT, and HMRC regulations.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Previous experience in wholesale, distribution, or FMCG sectors desirable.
